Our Story

 

The growth of KEJJA has been built step by step through the acquisition, operation, and modernization of hotel and real estate assets.

Before 1999 – Origins

 
Before entering the hospitality industry, Claude Chan owned Japanese photo processing centers. Market shifts driven by the rise of digital technology led him to divest these activities and pursue new business opportunities.

 

 

 

1999 – First Property

 
Acquisition of the first hotel, now operating under the Newstar banner. This milestone marks the group’s entry into hotel operations.

 

 

 

2000–2005 – Initial Development

 
Addition of new properties, including Hôtel Classique, and the gradual expansion of the hotel portfolio.

 

 

 

2009 – Hotel Expansion

 
Integration of a property under the Best Western banner, strengthening the group’s presence in the hospitality sector.

 

 

 

2015 – Major Acquisition

 
Acquisition of Hôtel Bonaventure, a defining step in the evolution of the portfolio and the group’s positioning.

 

 

 

2020–2022 – Expansion into New Markets

 
Expansion of operations in Quebec and other markets, marking a new phase of growth for the group.
